The Telangana Prantha Upadhyaya Sangam (TPUS) has announced a series of protests beginning July 4 to press for implementation of the National Education Policy (2020) and 51 per cent PRC fitment.

HYDERABAD — The Telangana Prantha Upadhyaya Sangam (TPUS) has declared a series of escalating demonstrations starting July 4, 2026, to press the state government over long-pending welfare and administrative demands.
The agitation will kick off with mandal- and school-level protests on July 4, progress to district-level sit-ins on July 14, and culminate in a massive state-level dharna on July 22.
In a joint statement, TPUS President Vodnala Rajashekar and General Secretary Telkalapalli Pentayya stated that the demonstrations aim to force immediate government action on key grievances. Chief among their demands is the immediate release and implementation of the Pay Revision Commission (PRC) report, featuring a 51% fitment benefit for all teachers and government employees. The union is also calling for the swift adoption of the National Education Policy (NEP 2020).
Additionally, the educators are demanding:
  • The immediate clearance of all pending bills for employees, teachers, and pensioners.
  • The sanctioning of six outstanding Dearness Allowances (DAs).
  • The abolition of the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) and a complete restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for all staff, including extending OPS to teachers recruited under the 2003 DSC.
  • The direct release of Model School teachers' salaries through the 010 budget head account.
  • The immediate distribution of school grants and dedicated funding for the Amma Adarsha Patashala scheme.
